2P Round Island Supperhop

Just 1 month away from exam

So we decided to go for a round-island supperhop

Right before we dive in and be enthu about studying for exams

And so we left hall at around 1030pm on Friday night

Began with Bedok 85 as the first stop

Right where the famous bar chor mee was located at

And it was my virgin trip to Bedok 85

After hearing so much about it

Yes indeed the bar chor mee was special

Soup-based with the cut chilli slices dump in

And all the bar chor inside already

Quite nice actually

But not very filling though

($2.50 only perhaps?)

That's why the delicious 耗煎 more than made up for it

 

Tiffy attacking the chicken wing aggressively

 

The boss with his sidekicks

Malcolm got left out

When right after we check with the person taking the 

photograph if he can see all of us

 

Now need to photoshop him in

Bedok 85 has almost zero parking lots

That's how bad it was even at 11+pm

Lots of illegal parking

*cough cough*

We did the same too

So we quickly left and went to Balestier for Bak Kut Teh

 

This was epic

Because we didnt know where Founder BKT was actually at

So we go about searching for it

And by luck we saw it across the road

And by chance the traffic light turned red for us to U-turn

And by opportunity a car pull out of the parallel parking in front of the place

And God just allow us to be the first one there among the rest

Hahahaha!

It was damn hilarious as we just laughed at how lucky we were

Our man here got his eye's poke by some mischievous dude

 

Free flow refill of the soup

 

The expression on Wee Kiat and Malcolm face is just......them?

There were like tons of celebrities photos there

You got Jay Chou, Jam Hsiao, Fei Yu Qing, Yu Tian and etc

All those big shots came by before

Even our own local celebrities all ate here before

This BKT was the pepper-based soup

Not those herbal-based one

Some people would like it

Some people would not

But as you just refill and refill

The soup get more and more spicy

And oh well, soup is just something I can do without

And the meat was ooooookay only

But for $6 a bowl with rice and free refill

I thought it was quite worthwhile

All in all it's like eating the brand only

But for Sinkies who never try this before

I think it's actually worth a go at

Then you can compare to the ones opposite the Central at Clarke Quay

And the one at the petrol station around Zouk

After Founder's BKT

We proceed to Upper Thomson for bar chor mee again

But we decided to bypass the bar chor mee as it would be very filling

So we went to Salted Caramel instead

Btw the bar chor mee at Meng's Kitchen is awesome!

Ate there before

Just beside the Prata House near the Stand Chart outlet

Just started playing with the concave mirror behind Talk Cock Sing Song

(And it's really a bar btw)

While waiting for the rest to arrive

Our car is always the first there no matter how bad the traffic is

And our car is the most havoc with the way Yuzheng was driving

And Justin just adding nonsense

And blasting Tiffy all the way

It was basically me just laughing all the way there while watching the action unfold

:)

 

Salted Caramel was sedap to say the least

The earl grey and horlicks tim tum

As compared to the one at SG Gardens

I forgot the ice-cream shop name

At the Maju Mall there

The earl grey there was.......plain?

But this earl grey is seriously good stuff

I went to Island Cream the next day

And felt that it suck 

(same feeling as the first time I went there)

No disrespect

Even though Island Cream was slightly cheaper by $0.50

Oh well, they say Island Cream's best was the mudpie

And it was sold out already

Salted Caramel close at 2am btw!

And I saw our dear Shang Geok there

Caught up with her and only realised what happened

Wah. A few months and so much happened

Life is indeed surprising

After Salted Caramel

We proceed to Geylang for tau huay

 

I think this was at Lorong 39?

Somewhere there

 

Flash bang!

Feeling a bit full and sleepy already

They have this tau huay pudding

And if you have eat before the Old Changi Airport Road the Lao Ban

You know what I mean

This.......loses out in some way

Without the bean taste and smell

But Lao Ban if you eat 5 in a row you will get sick of it too

No matter how delicious you think it is

After tau huay there was a lot of violent objection

Because we went to eat durian!

Hahahaha!

Something I wanted to do but never did before

Yes it was kinda cool

We got to lepak like uncle

Eat already burp and stuff

Talk to each other in "aromatic" durian scent

And just disturb those who cant take durian

Haha!

Geylang has lesser and lesser of those "activities" already

And its a crying shame because a lot of people never see it before

I still feel it is something unique and an experience one should have though

 

Crossing the road is so dangerous in Geylang

Talk about driving car

Just scare the shit out of me

So not a car person

After Geylang

We went to Jalan Besar for Swee Choon dim sum

 

I can only say it was a disappointment

Yum Cha at Chinatown is so much better

And Swee Choon is a bit way over-priced

If you have been to other places

You would consider it that way too

And if you have been to Hong Kong

Singapore.....?

Sorry no fight

 

And so we ended at 4am?

Went back to NTU to crash with a full stomach

Shiok!

Should do this when we have transport

Great company with great food!
